World of Wine
On the ground floor of the Park Hotel Vitznau lies heaven on earth for sommeliers and wine connoisseurs, as one of the biggest wine cellars in Switzerland boasts its range of fine vintages. Our total of six wine cellars are divided by region – France, New World, Old World, Château d’Yquem, Champagnes and Rarities – and are presented similarly to a museum in a way that enchants visitors. Carefully stored away in glass, wood and stone, bottles from international wine treasuries are lain out here, arranged by their provenance and with over four centuries of wine history to share.
The wine cellar in numbers
40,000 bottles, 4,500 positions – just a few key figures to summarize the wine cellars at the Park Hotel Vitznau. French wines are stored on stone shelves – the focus of this collection is wines from Burgundy, Bordeaux, and the Rhône Valley, in all sizes.
New & old world
At the back of this cellar, a blue shipping container can be spotted, which houses wines from the New World. Across from this, wines from the Old World – Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, and Austria – mature in pentagonal wooden shelves.

Jewels of glorious times
In the Château d'Yquem cellar, alongside the complete collection of all vintages from 1890 to today, one of the Château's bottles from 1811 sleeps in a golden casket. In the depths of our wine world are housed sparkling wines from across Europe, matured in curved wine racks designed in the style of original champagne remuage racks. Tucked away behind the champagne bar lie only the finest, rare vintages in their wooden boxes. Well guarded and cared for, they lie in wait of the perfect wine connoisseur.
